CONGRATULATIONS TO MRS. MACK!

On February 23, 2006, Mrs. Mack qualified as an Accelerated Math Model Classroom,
only four months after the implementation of Accelerated Math at Defiance Catholic School!
This honor is the first level of Certification for a classroom.
To certify as a Model Classroom you must maintain the following for a 12 week period:
Achieve at least 80% full pace - which is averaging four objectives per week.
Have no more than 10% "at risk" in Objectives Mastered and Test Percent Correct.

On March 21, 2006, Mrs. Mack achieved the near-impossible when she
qualified as an Accelerated Math Master Classroom only five months into the program.
This is the highest level of Math Certification for a classroom.
To certify as a Master Classroom you must maintain the same criteria as a Model Classrom, as well as:
Improvement of at least one percent in the Percentile Rank and Normal Curve Equivalent scores
between pre- and post-tests for STAR Math that have been taken at least 18 weeks apart.

Sara Peskie, Renaissance Implementation Specialist, praised Mrs. Mack saying,
"This is truly a great accomplishment to have achieved both Model and Master Classroom your first year implementing the Accelerated Math program."

Mrs. Mack is the only teacher in Ohio to have qualified for Math Model or Math Master Classroom.
